Fault Code 016-426 – Xerox Certificate Remediation Utility

Xerox PrimeLink printers, VersaLink printers, the WorkCentre 6516, and the Phaser 6510 have experienced the fault code 016-426. Xerox has released the Xerox Certificate Remediation Utility program in response to the situation in some devices. These devices were not connecting successfully to the company’s Global Remote Services.

The issue came into existence due to a recently expired certificate that has the firmware for three devices. With the loss of this communication, the device is no longer equipped with meter reads, maintenance information, and supplies replenishment information. With this utility program, a certificate update is made to ensure your printer keeps working as it should. 

You can conveniently use this utility to fix all your affected printers in your fleet in bulk. This utility comes with its user guide within a zip file. 

The file will explain all the prerequisites and requirements you need to fulfill to install and use the utility. It will also have a list of all the compatible products. Moreover, you will also have to check the firmware that is installed on your printers. It needs to be compatible with XCRU.

The utility will make it straightforward for you to install the fix on your multiple printer units. Look for your printer model that is displaying the fault or needs an update in certificates. You will only have to select the Drivers and Download tab and scroll the page down to Utilities and Applications. This is where you will find the utility and its downloadable ZIP file.
